Dance styles
Training at Studio dotE Dance School works on a yearly principle, which means commitment from the beginning until the end of the academic year. If there are places available, joining during the academic year is possible.
BROADWAY
Broadway jazz is a form of theatrical dance that originated in the theatrical performances of Broadway musicals. It combines the songs of Broadway musicals with the movement of classical jazz styles. Broadway jazz dancers are not only technically skilled, but also have a strong sense of theatricality.
Broadway jazz incorporates a wide range of dance techniques, including ballet, tap, hip-hop, etc. Dance style plays an important role in the storytelling and entertainment value of musical theatre productions.

CHILDREN'S DANCE
Children’s dance classes for 5-7 year olds are designed to instil a love of movement and a positive exercise habit in children. Emphasis is placed on building a healthy and fit posture, developing flexibility and learning different basic elements. The class is based on playful exercises to develop children's strength, endurance, sense of rhythm, coordination and balance. The class will also focus on building cooperative skills through group work and developing the children's creativity and courage to express themselves through dance.
HIP HOP
is named after a style of music that developed on the streets of North American cities. Hiphop has a specific beat and base technique. In class you can develop your skills and sense of style by learning basic steps and choreography. The emphasis is on the dancer's originality and expressiveness.
CREATIVE DANCE
is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique and modern dance movements. The emphasis is on expression, flexibility, extension, floor technique. Demonstrating the dancer's personal dance language and individuality is vital.
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance or modern jazz is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with modern dance movements. The emphasis is on expression, flexibility, extension and floor technique. Demonstrating the dancer's personal dance language and individuality is vital.
CHILDREN'S BALLET
The basics of the world of dance are learned through playful elements. Classical barre exercises are not yet performed. General fitness (posture, stretching), sense of rhythm, imagination and coordination are developed. The class improves accuracy of movement, improvisation, musicality, stage confidence and ability to work in a group.
The main objective of the class is to learn the basic rules of correct posture:
- general physical development of the body, strengthening of muscle groups
- focus on the development of toe point, turnout, flexibility, dance steps, jumping skills
- acquisition of body weight control
- development of spatial orientation
- developing a sense of rhythm and an ability to distinguish between different types of music, coordination exercises (listening-moving), awareness of the unity and relations of music and movements
Ballet also develops children's coordination and musicality, as well as their ability to concentrate and cooperate.
In addition to flexibility, strength and good posture, ballet gives children the joy and courage of movement.

ACROBATICS
Acrobatics is a form of exercise that focuses on developing strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination and balance through a variety of acrobatic exercises. Various elements of gymnastics are taught in class.
STREET DANCE
The Street Dance class combines different styles of street dance with the aim of offering spectacle and entertainment to the audience. The class uses upbeat music to develop your skills and sense of style. The emphasis is on the dancer's originality and expressiveness.
LYRICAL JAZZ
Lyrical jazz is a style based on ballet (classical dance), acrobatics and modern dance. It focuses on the leaps, turns and graceful postures characteristic of jazz and classical dance. The music encompasses lyrical ballads and melodic jazz.
SHOW
Show dance is a dynamic and entertaining style of dance that provides visual and artistic enjoyment for the audience. Show dance is a combination of different dance styles. The focus is on showmanship, brilliance, technique, costume and emotion.
CLASSICAL DANCE / BALLET
The main objectives of the elective class are learning the basic rules of correct posture, general physical development of the body and strengthening muscle groups. Special emphasis is placed on the development of toe point, turnout, flexibility and jumping ability through the classical ballet system.
Classical dance provides the dancer with movement quality and takes the technique to a new level. Ballet classes focus on technique, musicality and spatial awareness. Students will learn to perform basic movements and will be able to perform combinations appropriate to their development. The focus on movement and repetition develops muscles and coordination while giving the dancer control over their body. Exercises are performed both on the barre and in the centre of the hall.
